Our Analysis & Ratings

For a simple, cheap tent, the Outsunny 4P Camping Tent isn’t a bad option. It has a smaller footprint than many other tents, making it great for crowded camping, such as at festivals. It needs improvements and has its drawbacks, such as its waterproofing.

Comfort - Sleeping four people inside can be a bit squishy, but you can easily fit in a room for pets in the living area, if needed. Due to its poor waterproofing, you and your belongings can be wet when you wake up. While it’s not tall enough to stand in, you can sit comfortably on a chair in the living area.

Construction - The inner tent is a bit too close to the outer wall, so water and condensation can seep through. It’s best to treat the outer area with spray sealer before use. The material also isn't of the best quality, and while the rods aren’t the most durable and seem flimsy, they do the job.

Features - The bedrooms have storage pockets. There are two entrances, which allow for easy access and good ventilation on warm days.

Size/Weight - It’s fairly easy to pitch, although it comes with no instructions, and can be a bit difficult to get back into the small bag. Note that it’s not freestanding, so definitely needs two people to assemble it and we found we had to do quite a bit of juggling to stop the arches from falling over during pitching. On the plus side, it takes up relatively little space in the car.

Versatility - The Outsunny 4P Camping Tent is not waterproof, so it’s not great for cold or rainy conditions — it’s more of a summer camping tent.

Overall - As a budget tent, the Outsunny 4P Camping Tent is decent value, providing the basics for camping, but is less durable and more difficult to set up than other tents in this category.
