Our Analysis & Ratings
If it’s a chair that will last your years on end, the Yeti Trailhead is a great offering. While expensive, it’s made from durable materials in a design that allows it to be sturdy and long-lasting. It’s also easy to set up and comfortable — pretty much everything you want from a camping chair!
Comfort - Holding up to 500lb, the Yeti Trailhead is a durable and comfortable chair. The material conforms to your shape and the armrests are decently wide to support your arms — unfortunately, the arms don’t adjust. Its backrest is quite high, allowing for fantastic back support, and the fabric is breathable, preventing sweat from building in the heat and allowing for airflow.
Construction - The FlexGrip fabric on the Yeti Trailhead is UV-resistant, so it won’t fade while being in the sun for long periods. The seat is well made, with all the details covered, such as the cupholder, which is made from the same durable fabric with reinforced stitching. The bars are powder-coated steel and the cross-over design allows for sturdiness and stability when open.
Features - The instructions for setup/pack down are simple and easy to follow, although being placed on the armrests is kind of unnecessary — they’re removable stickers, though. The chair has a single cupholder, but other than that, no other storage, which is a shame.
Size/Weight - The storage bag is durable and is in the style of a backpack, allowing you to easily carry the 13.3lb, but it’s still quite a heavy chair for camping, which might not suit older campers or those trekking to their campsite.
Versatility - The sturdiness of the chair makes it fantastic for rough terrain, campsites and even the beach. The feet are wide, so you shouldn’t sink too far into soft surfaces.
Overall - If you don’t mind the price, the Yet Trailhead is one to pick up if you don’t want to buy another camping chair for many years, possibly ever again.
