Our Analysis & Ratings

If you’re looking for a camping table for camping, traveling in your RV and for cooking, or just need a table with a large top, the REI Co-Op Camp Prep Table is one option. It has adjustable legs so it’s great for various terrains; however, it’s not the most portable of tables.

Performance - The REI Co-Op Camp Prep Table can hold up to 100lbs, which is on par with many other tables of this size, although it’s much heavier than others on the list. We’d question this load capacity, though. It has a large surface area and is perfect for preparing food or placing many different items, but it’s a bit slippery. The aluminum top is heat-resistant and easy to clean from spills.

Construction - Made from steel, this table is stable and strong, yet it also has a bit more style in its design — as well as expense. The steel is durable, meaning it’s intended for repeated outdoor use although its powder-coated aluminum tabletop is a bit prone to denting. It does help keep the weight down though.

Features - A great feature of the REI Co-Op Camp Prep Table is that each leg is adjustable, so you can stabilize it on uneven ground. Each corner of the table has room to hang storage, such as bin bags or towels.

Portability - A camping table should be reasonably lightweight and easy to carry, which the REI Co-Op Camp Prep Table is not. It’s heavy at nearly 19.7lb but does come with a carry bag with a carry handle, although only one, which can make transport a bit difficult. It folds in half for easy storage, although the table doesn’t lock when folded.

Versatility - Being so heavy, the REI Co-Op Camp Prep Table is actually very simple to set up, being able to be set up and taken down in under a minute. It’s able to be used on various uneven surfaces due to its adjustable legs. Being quite heavy, it can be off-putting too take when camping.

Overall - Overall, the REI Co-Op Camp Prep Table is a handy table to have, you just need to make sure its weight is right for you.
