Our Analysis & Ratings
For a good-looking and sturdy table with a large surface area, the Mountain Summit Gear Heavy-Duty Roll-Top Table has its good points and downsides. It’s large and has a decent weight for a cooking station type of table, but is more on the expensive side, and some might find it slightly difficult to set up.
Performance - The table has a large surface area and the table is stable when using it. It sets up in under a minute, meaning as it gets dark and you need to prepare dinner, it’s not an extra, time-consuming activity, as long as you know how to set it up. The first time can be difficult, so try it a few times before heading out camping. It only supports 70lb, so it’s more of a light cooking table or dinner table, and you might need a tablecloth to keep things from slipping as the surface is quite slippery.
Construction - The rollout tabletop is made from aluminum, while the frame is steel, making it lightweight and sturdy enough for most uses. It’s also weather-resistant. Its frame collapses into itself when stored, and the tabletop simply rolls up. For some reason, the tabletop isn’t secured to the base in the centre, which makes it shift around slightly.
Features - Being all black, it’s one of the better-looking tables we’ve seen, although this can fade over time. Unlike other tables we’ve reviewed, it doesn’t have adjustable legs, which loses some points.
Portability - The Mountain Summit Gear both folds and stores away in a large, compact bag that’s easy to carry with its handle, which you can sling over your shoulder. At 15.3lb, it’s a decent weight, but definitely not the heaviest on our list.
Versatility - The Mountain Summit Gear Heavy-Duty Roll-Top Table is great for family camping and having at base camp due to its size and durability. It could be taller, and the support bars underneath limit leg space, reducing how many people can sit around the table. It’s not a table for a quick stow away, though, as for some reason, the legs can be finicky when folding.
Overall - After Mountain Summit Gear’s slight redesign of the table, the Heavy-Duty Roll-Top Table is a durable and large table with lots of functionality.
