Our Analysis & Ratings

The BlackWolf Wasp UL is a well-constructed tent that will last for years. Our big knock on it is that it's a whopping 3kg which makes it too heavy for hiking in our eyes. The inner also doesn't have much ventilation. If you are just looking for a comfortable, warm camping tent with lots of space and storage, then this may be the one for you.

Comfort - This has probably the most spacious interior of all the tents we reviewed. It can get hot inside though, on account of the lack of ventilation.

Construction - Made from good-quality, high-denier ripstop fabric fly with decent-gauge aluminum poles. This is a well-constructed tent that will last.

Features - We found the setup and pack down to be a bit of a process, although there are lots of pockets and double vestibules.

Size/Weight - Packed size of 21x7in, weight of 6.6lbs. This is a bit big and heavy for a hiking tent, but if you're mainly camping with the occasional short hike, it will do the job.

Versatility - Because of the size and weight, it wouldn’t be our first choice to take hiking but this is still a good fairly versatile tent offering added warmth for cold climates.

Overall - Heavy for hiking, ok for camping.
